The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of
Macedonia and the Association of Judges of the Republic of Macedonia organized
an expert discussion on the Law on Courts and the Law on the Judicial Council.
The purpose of this discussion is to debate the different possible position
of the Judicial Council in accordance with the good practices and needs of the
Republic of Macedonia, taking into account the previous observations of the
expert and scientific public, especially the remarks arising from judicial
professionals , expressed in several debate forums organized by the Association of Judges, as
well as the remarks from the two Priebe Reports, the conclusions of the Venice
Commission to the Council of Europe and the latest European Commission Progress
Minister Salji said that the Ministry of
Justice is obliged to continue with the judiciary reforms, in line with the remarks made by our
European partners. That is why the National Strategy for Reform of the Judicial
Sector was developed and adopted, in which considerable attention is devoted to functioning and the system of organization of the Judicial Council.
Minister Salji said that the Government of
the Republic of Macedonia is fully committed to the Euro Atlantic integration and
has adopted Plan 3-6-9 for that purpose.
Within that plan, the Ministry of Justice
drafted the Law Amending the Law on the Judicial Council of the Republic of
Macedonia and the Law on Amending the Law on Courts.
